We would like to take a moment to express our gratitude for all the people that contributed to our fundraising efforts to prevent colon cancer. The fight against this disease hits close to home for us here at Elantis, as two of our employees have been affected by colon cancer. If something affects one person on our team, it affects all of us, which is why it means the world us to see the support from our friends and family in our Bumrun fundraising efforts.
We did not let the pandemic get in the way of supporting a great cause! The Bumrun 2021 proved that we can still come together virtually to make a difference in the fight against colon cancer. Throughout Canada, the event raised over $114,000 towards colon cancer prevention and awareness.
As part of Elantis’ fundraising, we also teamed up with a local craft brewery, Blind Enthusiasm Brewing Company to sell Biera Boxes with proceeds going towards our cause. Each week the Biera Box support a different local charity with delivery or pick up of a box of locally sourced foods and beverages, and Elantis’ Bumrun was featured April 5th – 10th. The collaboration with Blind Enthusiasm Brewing furthered our reach in raising awareness and funds for colon cancer prevention, and we are so grateful!
Our fundraising culminated on April 25th, 2021, when Elantis team members met up for a socially distanced 5 KM Bumrun where possible, with other team members completing the Bumrun solo in their respective locations.
At the close of our fundraising initiative, we are thrilled to report that the Elantis team raised $5,828.20 for the 2021 Bumrun, with $5,000 matched by Elantis. This means that together we raised $10,828.20 for colon cancer prevention! We are so grateful for the support from our community – we can’t thank everyone enough for helping us reach our goal! We are proud to have played a small part in reducing the impact of colon cancer for future generations.
